Today's theme is "Setsubun” February 3rd is the day of Setsubun in Japan. The meaning of the word Setsubun is “division of the seasons,” Setsubun signifies the ending of winter and the beginning of spring. Hiragiiwashi is used as an amulet in Setsubun. Put the head of the baked sardine at the tip of the holly branch and decorate it at the entrance.
It is believed that Oni come when the seasons change in Japan. Oni is a devil-like creature in Japanese folklore.
